HOPE Youth Leadership

Beginning April 1, 2024, the City of Euclid, Euclid Public Library, and Euclid City Schools have all confirmed their intent to enter an agreement with the Case Western Reserve University Center for Community Innovation for community-led citywide "vision for a safer Euclid" in partnership with the HOPE Task Force.

As part of this initiative, the HOPE Task Force co-chairs and residents are planning the upcoming year of Euclid neighbor night gatherings (twice a month; dates are here) and would like to support some youth co-facilitators to help lead the gatherings. This opportunity will provide Euclid students with a chance to learn about community organizing, and they will help influence the HOPE Task Force's work in the coming year. The ideal co-facilitator would be a mature sophomore or a junior (since it goes into next year) or a senior staying local after graduation.

Click here to view, complete or share the application; we plan to select 3-4 students.

Currently, four adults (Emily Holody, Taneika Hill, Pam Turos, and Kandace Jones) share the tasks of Neighbor Night facilitation and are primarily responsible for coordinating and leading the gatherings. Our selected youth co-leaders will be mentored and empowered to assume the leadership role however they feel most comfortable stepping in.

Any interested students should complete this form by May 1, and we will follow up with them directly. Any youth who are interested are also encouraged to attend upcoming Neighbor Night gatherings on April 9 and/or 23 to learn more. Click here for the full calendar.
